We're the giving arm behind John Volken Academy (JVA), and our mission is simple: to make sure that every dollar, every hour, and every ounce of energy we invest goes toward helping individuals rebuild their lives and step into who they're meant to become.
Who We Are
Volken Gives was built on a straightforward belief — that personal transformation is possible for anyone, given the right community, structure, and support. We work alongside John Volken Academy and its family of social enterprises, including Academy Movers, JVA Thrift, and Price Co, to fund programs that give students and participants the tools, training, and encouragement they need to move forward.
We're not in the business of quick fixes. We're in the business of long-term change — the kind that comes from peer-driven community, real-world job skills, and a renewed sense of purpose.
What We Do
Our work centers on a few key commitments:
- Funding opportunity — We help cover the cost of education, vocational training, and life-skills development for individuals working toward independence.
- Building community — We support the peer networks and mentorship structures that make lasting change possible.
- Creating pathways to work — Through partnerships with Academy Movers, JVA Thrift, and Price Co, we help participants gain real job experience while contributing to something bigger than themselves.
- Investing in dignity — Every program we fund is designed to treat people as capable, valued, and worthy of a fresh start.
Why It Matters
Every individual who walks through JVA's doors is writing a new chapter. Our role at Volken Gives is to make sure they have the resources to finish that chapter well — with skills in hand, a support system around them, and a clear sense of the future ahead.
